Re-Elect Regina Williams for City Council in Harper Woods


 

Regina L. Williams is a resident of Harper Woods Michigan.  She has dedicated a  life-time to public service.  She is a former Military Police Lieutenant and she is a career educator for over 28 years with the Detroit Public Schools Community District teaching mathematics at Renaissance High School in Detroit.  Regina Williams also serves as a city council member with the city of Harper Woods. She was previously a member of the Harper Woods school board elected for two terms and had the distinction to serve as treasurer, vice president and president. She is the first African-American to be elected as school board President for the Harper Woods Board of Education. She has presently served her community as an elected official for almost eleven years in her capacity with the  board of Education (7 years) and currently City Council member (4 years), along with being a precinct delegate for district 2. If re-elected to city council she will continue to support initiatives that improve the city’s infrastructure, social justice and the economy to make our community a safe place to work and live. I was elected for two terms to the Harper Woods School Board and am very proud of the new CCI Building that provides college career and technical training to the young people in the community. As a current member of the Harper Woods City Council, we are working to re-develop the previous Eastland Mall to create a new light industrial business area that will  support the community. We are repairing the road and re-surfacing Beaconsfield street and have revitalized all three of the parks in Harper Woods. I have been an elected official for over 11 years and am dedicated to serving the people. I grew up on Detroit’s East side and and give back to my community as a current public school educator for almost 28 years. I am a proven leader who is dedicated, and motivated and lead with integrity and compassion.
